Janet WoodhouseArtist's StatementA true local, Buckingham born and raised Janet has always been interested in drawing, painting and creating things, but did not have the opportunity to study this subject until retiring 5 years ago. However she was able to study Fashion Design at UCLA whilst living in California - watch out for her creations in the Annual Comminity Pantomime. Drawing inspiration from the countryside around, her faourite subjects include trees, leaves and seed pods. Figure drawing and Still Life are other subjects high on the list. The artist's favourite medium is watercolour, particularly wet-in-wet with splatters and a loose and free approach (Janet is known as Mrs Splodget by her friends). Having come to terms with Oils her latest works are in this medium. Janet lives in the wilds of Leckhampstead with husband Paul. September 2010
