Born in Stoke-on-Trent, I read geography at Oxford and taught for a long time, but now I’m free to do what I want which is to be creative and to paint. I began with drawing and watercolours and have begun to do much more in oils.  I have painted landscapes, still life and portraits and I am attracted by vibrant colours.  I feel at the beginning of a long journey and know there are many paths to explore, illustrated by the artists I admire – Turner, Rembrandt, Hockney and O’Keeffe.
