Alan Chown- Pen and Wash
Well Street Church - Tuesday 6th October 2009

Alan Chown was born in Northamptonshire but now lives in Milton Keynes not far from the concrete cows. He is a self taught artist and has no formal training other than a few local ACE courses, taken after his early retirement, to refresh much neglected pen and ink techniques. In 2005 he was persuaded to enter the world of watercolours and has been hooked ever since using the technique to produce watercolour paintings, enhance basic pen drawings and mixed media effects.
A visit to Venice has inspired a lot of work but trees, boats and buildings of any description also have his undivided attention together with British and European landscapes.
As well as being a member of Bafa Alan is deputy Chair and Treasurer of the Milton Keynes Society of Artists.  He exhibits wideley and his work can be viwed at : -
Bedford Street Gallery

Alan gave us an excellent demonstration of pen and wash techniques which was enjoyed by a larger than usual audience.

A huge thank you to Alan from Bafa for giving us anotrher very enjoyable evening and sharing with us his way of working, his techniqes and many of his completed works of art.
