"Unseen In The Everyday" at Akeley Village Hall
14th to 16th November 2008

Bafa's first ever art competition entitled "Unseen In The Everyday" was heralded a huge success with over 150 members and invited guests  attending the preview night.  The evening was opened by John Bercow MP Bafa's patronwho most generously gave of his time.  He had a personal tour of the exhibition led by Carol Bagni and the Bafa Chair Peter Baker.  He seemed very pleased by the level of talent on display and gave credit to Peter and his 6 ladies for all their hard work in getting Bafa going is such a short space of time and more so for putting on such a splendid exhibition.

Everybody attending the preview was asked to vote for their favourite in each of the "Best Experienced", "Best Intermediate" and "Best Novice" categories.  Peter Bowtell, Kevin Oldham and Gemma Higgins won each of the categories respectively.  A special thank you must also be given to The High Sherriff of Buckingham Peter Thorogood and his wife Leonie for taking the time out from their busy schedules to attend.

Over the week-end the exhibition was open to the general public who were invited to vote for their overall best in show which was won by Peter Bowtell. An honourable mention was given to Zoe Day for hr picture of a nude shown above and to Gemma Higgins who came second and third in the voting overall.
