Kate Bravo- Silk Painting

A warm welcome was extended to a new name at Bafa - Kate Bravo.  She has been doing silk painting since she was fourteen years old, but we didn't like to ask how long that was.  Kate mastered in Fine Arts at University and specialised in film making.

By way of introduction Kate showed a brief extract from one of her films as we were setting up.  If  there is enough interest then maybe we could get her back to talk about the art of making films.?

Kate started off by explaining the basics of how to stretch the silk, the paints used (kindly loaned by Canvas) and the techniques involved.  And then everone was invited to have a go.

It was extremely fascinating.  Everybody looked as though they were thoroughly enjoying themselves.
